Nuclear medicine
A nuclear medicine examination is aimed at checking the organ functions, in order to able to make a diagnosis of diseases and disorders as early as possible. The radiotracers, previously injected into an arm vein, make the metabolic processes visible for the examination apparatus: a diagnostic image (a scintigram) is produced. As a rule, the substances administered have no side effects, the radiation exposure lies in the low-dose range.
Our range of services in the area of nuclear medicine:
- Thyroid diagnostics (sonography, scintigraphy, laboratory, including cancer aftercare)
- Parathyroid scintigraphy
- Bone, kidney, lung scintigraphy, including SPECT
- Bone marrow scintigraphy
- Inflammation scintigraphy (scintigraphy using antigranulocyte antibodies)
- Liver scintigraphy
- Oncological examinations, e.g. sentinel lymph nodes
- Lymph scintigraphy
We are planning to extend our range of services to the areas of cardiac examination, brain examination and radiosynorviorthesis (nuclear medicine therapy of joint diseases).
